Product details
Description
A Tryptich Sculpture, Three Raku conical sculptures by Andrew Niblett
Raku typically refers to a unique, dramatic style of Japanese pottery characterised by hand-shaping and rapid, low-temperature firing. Developed in 16th-century Kyoto for traditional tea ceremonies, the technique involves removing glowing, red-hot ceramics from the kiln and immediately placing them in combustible materials to create striking, smoky finishes.
Each signed with the artists Cypher
The finish on these sculptures is striking. They are by British Ceramicist Andrew Niblett and are stamped with his AN cypher. Andrew is well known for creating expressive Raku (a japanese technique) and Sagger fired vessels at his studio in Gloucestershire. Andrew is inspired by military history, which is why I think these sculptures resemble artillery shells.
These are not vases. I believe they belong together as a triptych, and a single art work. Which is why I offer them together tallest 29.5cm
Price is for the three.
